Emotions

Small things set a heart alight,
Emotions never are quite right.
Tipping scales fall in place,
By a mere flutter of your face,
Dreams both large and small.
It seems the whole world will fall.

As consistent as the sky,
We laugh, we yell, we cry.
Stop 'n' ask why?
Why do we obey a lie?

Hate burns deep in veins,
Even quicker when it rains.
At a simple moments bicker,
Hearts still burn and flicker.
Regret jumps up like a weed,
Just as fast, it goes to seed.

As consistent as the sky,
We laugh, we yell, we cry.
Stop 'n' ask why?
Why do we obey a lie?

Why, why do we do this?
Why do our hearts burn and hiss?
Only when fully in God's grip,
Will we not fall or slip.
